Siobhan Monique brings her “don’t miss” debut show to the Side Door this Friday

Here at the Palladium we love introducing great new artists from our area. This Friday is one of those debut shows that I am thrilled to announce.

I’d been hearing about Siobhan Monique for a while and caught an early show at Ruby’s Elixer. She has the voice and the stage presence of a soul diva. I could see that even on a Monday night with a handful of folks in the room.

Since then, she’s built her reputation and her audience. She delivers some classic soul, including tunes by my fave Chaka Kahn, but she always sounds like a 2017 artist. And her look:  You never know what she’ll bring but it will always be audacious and over-the-top.

She’s sold out shows at the Hideaway Café and the Carter Woodson Museum, and now she’s ready to move up to the Palladium’s Side Door Cabaret. She’s calling this debut show – The Legacy Continues.

Siobhan comes with a great band, along with singers and some incredible costumes that would make Lady Gaga jealous. She is also descended from musical royalty. Her uncle was the late Buster Cooper, Duke Ellington’s trombone player. She performed on our mainstage as part of our tribute to Buster last year.

But now she is coming to headline her first show. Please don’t miss it.

Her debut reminds me of another great player we introduced. Selwyn Birchwood was making a local reputation when he played to a small crowd at the Side Door. Now, he’s headlining festivals and selling out theaters around the world. He’s coming back to the Side Door for two nights – July 28 and 29.

People are still talking about his first show. Make sure you are in the audience for Siobhan’s Palladium debut!
