One of our favorite jazz singers, Whitney James, has been out of circulation for the past year, as she completes an advance degree in music in Texas.
But she didn’t want to miss her annual Jazz Valentine concert, so she’s hopping a plane later this week headed for the Side Door. This show always sells out and this year is no exception. As I’m writing this there are only 26 general admission tickets left for the concert on Friday, Feb. 14 at 8 p.m.
Appearing this year with Whitney will be one of the the area’s finest guitarists, LaRue Nickelson, along with Dave Hamar on drums and Doug Matthews on bass. Whitney and LaRue are always a perfect partnership on stage.
